motorsailer design

Robert Beebe in Voyaging Under Power shows study plans for a 30' motorsailor designed by Robert McMurry of Mill Valley,CA. I have been unable to reach him. Does anyone know if his designs are still available? This small 30' steel boat looks like a capable long range power cruiser for someone on a budget. Many thanks for any information. Dave

Whilst you are waiting to hear about Robert McMurry, have a look at http://www.bruceroberts.com/ and his designs. There are many other designers as well.

motorsailor design

Pericles; Thanks for the reply on steel motorsailor design. I have seen Bruce Roberts designs as well as Dudley Dik, Kasten, George Buehler and others. If you like small steel boat designs you owe it to yourself to get hold of a copy of Robert Beebe's Voyaging Under Power, on page 131 there's a profile aqnd plan view of Mc Murray's 30' motorsailor. Beebe said "This was one design we simply had to have in this book."

Motor sailers

Guillermo has two sites by his signature. http://www.xente.mundo-r.com/motorsailers/what_s_.htm
and http://www.banjer37.net/

Once you have worked through them, it all falls into place.

Very highly recommended.
