Most innovative designers today

Who do you think are the most innovative powerboat designers, the real "game changers," and why so?

The likes of the International racing scene - - Bill Barry Cotter, founder of RIVIERA in Australia, and his Maritimo racing division - - one of the best...

John Chaplin would be on my list. Although he started out his design career as an employee of Sir Christopher developing ACVS in the UK, he made his biggest mark in the development of the modern surface effect ship (often now called 'air cushion catamarans') while at Bell (later Textron).

I'm with some of the others too, Nigel Irens and Don Blount would both be on my short list of the best too. And not to forget... Jim Wynne, one of my all-time favorites. Or Woody Woodson..or Ray Hunt...

In historical terms, hard to argue with any of those listed above. In current terms though, it's hard to go past the team at Wally, lead by Luca Bassini
