| Most effecient trolling/cruising motor? In a previous thread, there was some discussion of utilizing a diesel/electric motor on a 70 foot trawler. Also, there was talk of using a hydraulic motor and I interjected using a couple diesel or electric sail drives for slow cruising speeds. Has anyone seen a design they thought brilliant? I'll need a single, big diesel for fast speeds in my sportfish...but will spend more time chugging along at 4 to 8 knots. It sure would be nice to turn that big CAT off and run more efficiently at slow speed...without a sail! Tony |
