Modify older Smoker Craft 14' Alum.

Have '85 great shape alum. (rivits) 14' semi-v. 15" transom, 52" width @ transom. 58" width @ mid. 3 seater. Looking to put 30HP Jet(117lbs). Any way safely to reinforce alum. transom to handle weight. Was told boat could handle 25HP, but I am not sure dealer knows to much about this year, limitations plate missing on boat. Still awaiting info. about boat from factory. I knew of people way back, used to reinforce transom on simalar size & style wood boats to accomidate more HP/weighted engines. At this point, a previous owner, installed a 1/2" piece of wood about 8" wide, notch to fit over inside short mfg. rivited bracket (below wood engine mount piece outside transom), rivited to floor. Transom side/floor rivitd look very good as well as floor rivits. When I purchased boat recently, found all ribs, sit, sit brackets all rivits tight & @ flooring no rib gaps or leaks. Newer Smokers sim. to my boat have 30" transom, over 60" beam, can handle 35HP.
