| Method of testing steel boat (destructive testing) first i wanna says that im new here. Im a student from one of those University in Malaysia and currently i am taking bachelor in naval architecture and. I have given one assignment from my lecturer regarding the "method of testing a steel or aluminium boat in destructive way". Problem is i couldnt find any information and any idea about this method. when i try to search it i only found the NDT (non-destructive way) to testing boat. what i know about this destructive test is that it will result in sample destruction. I hope you experienced people could help me about this problem. please reply me asap. tq |

| What do you want to test, hull girder or fatigue? What type of loading; point or distributed? Model or full scale? What hull type? There have been tests to destruction before; very expensive national level type of things. They are out there if you know what to look for.

| I've got a report somewhere on destructive testing of ships panels, both buckling and fatigue. Fine tuning allowable stresses etc and good for checking against the classification societies presumtions. as jeh. said it's a very big expensive enterpise. |
