| Mast deflection VS performance Right now I'm having a look at my rig design (the one for my Uni project). This time I'm using three spreaders, for a 60 footer. Now, playing with the position and size for each spreader, I can modify the mast deflection. I can get the top of the mast closer to its original position, making the mast an arch shape. Or I can get the masthead to move away from its original position, until the mast bends like half an arc. Would anyone tell me the effects on the performance between different mast deflections? Or what would be better for one or another conditions? Thanks Fernando
