Looking for design ideas for my requirements

Hello,

My colleagues and I have been designated to propose the future design of our company crewboats.

The goal is to design a boat for 40 pax maximun :
- able to go in rough sea and heavy weather
- to consume less fuel as possible
- quite easy to built (avoid if possible carbon sandwich and so on)
- an action range of 600 km

I'm open to any idea, I'm currently studying about SWAT and wave piercers and more generally multihulls but your advice will be a great help for me !

Don't necessarily rule out Carbon sandwich. If properly designed for purpose and construction you might find a carbon boat actually works out cheaper due to a reductions in componet numbers and quantities.

Case Study

Also when considering hull forms remember a boat like this will operate at a range of different displacements so you need a hull form that can handle this variation.

We are designing planning catamaran ferries, for 20-60 passengers. Some already in service in Thailand and Cambodia.

What is Your expected wave height? Speed?

To operate on 4m wave, You need boats 20+ meters long, could be planning cats. What is the distance of trip?
