loads on sheets calculation

Hello
No response on the sailboats forum so I try this one, perhaps more chance !!

Do somebody know some basic rules to calculate the max loads on the sheets, specially on the spinnaker sheets and halyard in relation to sails area and perhaps boat weight !http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/ima...s/confused.gif

Spinnaker sheet/halyard calculator

Southern Ocean ropes have a sheet/halyard calculator for spinnakers on their website.

The underlying formulas are not given and the calculations are only based on length. You should be able to make an estimate of the loads by looking up the strength of te rope advised.
