"my solution is to not produce any more such GRP boats and use instead stainless steel."

Some types of Monel are self anti-fouling , come up with a better mix that does not require scrubbing.

    Or an all copper hull.

    Save the Paint Brushes!

    Hi Fast Fred

I do have already nice solution applied on my boat Omega 30S.
The bottom is painted several times with Hempel`s HIGH PROTECT solvent free paint.
This paint is making the surface hard and sealed for years.
We, in Sweden, prefer to lift the boat twice per season and just high pressure wash the boat.
This is like the cars are washed today at Car Washing Center.
The advantage is that all dirt is collected in a container and do not remain in the lake water.
The cost of lift and labor are below the cost of painting and the paint. (and the brushes..)
The copper is prohibited in Sweden for small pleasure crafts also as paint.

    Best Regards

Interesting ,Sweedish barnicals can be scrubbed off and not leave the residue where they were attached?

    Try that further south .

Barnacles larvae settle one or two times per season in Sweden. It's important to scrub them off before they have grown and got a hard shell. We have a system where it is monitored when the larvae attach themselves. We can get a text message when it's time to scrub the boat.
