lightweight construction application

im a naval architecture student. Can anyone tell me the lightweight materials used in shipbuilding and the places where it is used in a ship ?
ill be thankful if u could provide the links which has the details of it.

In large ships, your only weight saving thoughts can be used in interior walls and perhaps floors. But you have to consider fire/flame spread.
