Keel modification / CFD analysis

hi to all,
that's ok that lead keel dosesn't look so good,
Now we want a bigger RM , for IMS rating and stability,
where we are it' s quite expensive building a new one.
we have the possibility of making some modification/optimization to the existing one, also using CFD at university.

Today i mesured and made the 3d model we are going to test
I woluld like to post in coming week the development about this
Has someone some similar experiences or may suggest the best way to proceed?

Keel modification.

This is an interesting shape. Would you care to explain the thinking that leads to it?

Keel modification.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw this keel. Try my web site www.ivorbittle.co.uk section 1 section 6 on the keel and bulb to see where I think you should be.

You will see why I am not surprised to hear of your stability problems. There is no reason to use cfd when we have ironclad data to work with and getting the shape right is more important than anything else.

Come back on this if you think that I can help.
