| how about powerful acid into ballast tanks, then buffer with mild alkali? The acid would turn the crust into soup, then the alkali would make the soup non-toxic and dis chargeable. Yeah, you need to work out how you add the alkali without turning your boat into an acid-bomb. |

| Kach22i, I've always thought an air-cooled car type radiator on a boat could solve a lot of problems I keep hearing about. However, most marine engines tend to run at a far higher "duty cycle" and I don' t think most auto cooling systems could keep up...but even double radiators of automotive cost would be cheaper than anything "marine" spec-ed. |
