Jarcat 5 Boat Plans

Hi'a everyone,

My husband is thinking about building another boat. His first one was a plywood dory. Me, I hate the sea, the stuff in it freaks me out.......but he said he'd be interested in making a Catamaran because they are so stable. So I said I'd give it a go, as long as the boat was solid like a rock!....lol.

So he looked at designs on the net (well, I did the looking, he just told me which one he liked), and found one. It's the Jarcat 5/6. I'd really love to be able to help him out with his dream on this, and so I was wondering if there was anybody out there that had built the Jarcat already, and had no further need for the plans, and would like to sell them on at a discounted price? He's not sure if he wants that exact boat or not, and so he doesn't want to pay full price for the plans, you know.

Ok guys/guy-esses.....thanks...

Cheers,

Michaela

Jarcat Plans

Hi Michaela,

What a wonderful depth of consideration. If you do manage to find reduced price, or even free, plans for the boat, please remember to contact the designer and ask for the correct licensing fee to build a second boat from those plans.

Most designers stipulate that the original plan fee includes the construction of a single example from those plans. Typically the fee for any subsequent boat would be much less, so we're not taliking about a large sum of money, here.

Best of luck in your pursuit to enjoy this journey with your husband.

Hey'a Chris,

I didn't know that about the licensing fee. Thank you for that. I will certainly take your advice and contact the designer.

Cheers you

Me
