Introduction and Floor replacement questions!

Hi my name is Mark, I am from south western PA. I have been boating all of my life but never owned my own boat. My dad decided to buy a new boat this spring, and he is giving me his old boat, it is a 1986 Celebrity 210 21' cuddy cabin. He has owned the boat since new and has taken good care of it. The floor has one soft spot that I know of. I plan on ripping out all of the carpet on the floor. If that one spot is the only one I find, would be ok to cut out the bad section and replace it, or should I replace the entire floor? If I do have to replace the entire floor, how should I go about doing it?
