I'm guessing this 1/4" steel-hulled Philip Bolger ketch

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/boa/1789603936.html

was built out of 'fully developable' sheets of steel, in other words flat pieces.

Sort of like Origami Boats?

Has a very utilitarian Neo-Post Industrial Pre-Modernist Movement(or whatever 'they' would say) look to it.

Philip Bolger WAS the designer

designed 100s of boats.

some traditional, and some with a 'no nonsense' aesthetic.

No doubt original approach to make full -keeled hull developable!
My hat off to hull design, no matter who is the author!
