Hydromax - moment

Hi,
I've a question about hydromax. Can this program give me the hydrostatic moment that apply from the water on to the boat ?
I just want to give the Disp of my boat and obtain the moment in a particular point for different trim cases.
If hydromax don't do it which program can?

For a particular trim, if you know your centre of buoyancy and your displacement, you ll get your moment. The lever of your moment will the distance between your particular point and the centre of buoyancy.

I'd suggest looking it up in the manual or on the online help... the type of analysis you're looking for is called "large angle stability"...

thanks dave but I'm not looking for the righting moment but for the moment that the water is exercing on the boat in a particular position.
If my modelisation is right it just depend of the heel, trim and displacement, but the the position of the CG is not important.


Nico I think you have exactely what I need.

How do I get the position of the CB ? What analysis is giving me the position ? Hydrostat seems to give only the LCB???
Is there anyway fo me to get a table of the positon depending on my trim/heel/Disp ?

Using large angle stability, you ll get VCB and LCB, you d want TCB (transverse) too, you ll get it from the distance GZ which is the horizontal distance between CB and CG, (so CG is important here, not in your calculations but in GZ).
