Rocker

[quote=bevan]Can anyone tell me what is meant by too much rocker on the hull profile?#

Rocker is the curve from front to back on the underside of the hull, normally measured along the centreline. A Hobie 16 is a good example of a cat with a lot of rocker, something like a modern A Class towards the other extreme.

Like everything to do with Sailboat design the amount of rocker you put on the shape is a compromise. Few designers think (at least at the time) they have put too much rocker on their boats (or too little) but someone else surely will think so!
