| DYMO used to manufacture a large format tape writer (the kind that embosses in plastic tape) that was available with reverse lettering. You would emboss the tape then stick it in the mold in the proper location and mold over it. When the boat was pulled from the mold and the tape peeled off voila, you had your HIN/CIN molded in. Tampering was difficult, but not impossible for a good glass guy. I haven't seen one for years. |

| yes, DYMO was the brand, and what I allready learned that they are called #embossing devices# - like the letters on your bank or credit card.... However, the problem is the reverse letters for the molding process. I go crazy cause I saw an ad some days or weeks ago and I am too silly to find it agin ![]() |

| Contact Monarch Manufacturing in Nixa, Missouri, 417-724-2744. I believe they have the labeling machine you are looking for. |

| Send an e-mail address to Rick Gipe at rgipe@comdt.uscg.mil at the Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety. They have the names and address of the manufacturers of these machines. There are only three. They aren't cheap either. He'll send you the list

| All you need is a standard label maker/emboster. Your EC/ISO standard will layout what is required, i.e. company name/initials, yacht model, slot no., manufacture date, manufacture year of model etc etc. If you look at your problem, all you need to do is reverse the side of the tape before printing/embosting (i.e. flip it over). Therefore it is mirrored into your gelcoat reading left to right.

| Buckle has it right I think. My only comment to the reverse printing is "DAAA" Not very complicated when you see it that way. |
