Hull bottom pressure calculations

Can anyone suggest a formula for determining hull bottom pressure (at displacement speeds) or a webpage where I might find out more about this subject?

I am after the information to try and further understand how hull skin thicknesses and internal structures are determined.

You'd better have a look at the classification society rules regarding to the yachts. You will see the empirical formulas that would help you to determine the thickness and also prior to that you will obtain the estimated bottom pressure acting on the hull.

A good book that shows how this is done in a fairly conservative method (dated now, but I still use it sometimes for a first pass at a structure) is "Fiberglass Boat Design and Construction" by Robert Scott, and I believe it is still available at the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (www.sname.org). It goes through an older method of bottom pressure calculations and shows you how to do the simpler engineering for a composite hull using mat and woven roving. This is based on the famous Gibbs & Cox studies of the 1960s (Scott was employed by G&C at the time). It will get you through the day in most situations.
