how many baffles?

roughly how many baffles (or how far apart should each baffle be) and in what patter (in one direction or ina grid patter etc) should be fitted to a tank about 1500x300x300

3 baffles at 500 with cropped corners should do it

Sounds about right, if building to ABYC (H-24.18.2.7) If baffles are provided, the total open area provided by the baffles shall be a maximum of 30% of the tank cross section in the plane of the baffle.
