How high will it float.

    Chris, please take a quick look through those calculations and see if your NA calculated anything called a "free surface" effect. If you are ballasting thin-walled drums with water, this effect can be large.

    If he didn't include free surface, go back to him for a revision that does include it. It has a large effect on metacentric height.
