How about something based off the wetbike?
I can almost picture the wheels on it already,
and it could be truly amphibious ?!!

oldie FWD motorcycle, with spinning engine in front wheel.

Similar to how a WW1 biplane's engine was spinning...I think.

I've heard normally with a mechanical or hydraulic connection you always have a bad torque problem.

Doesn't it look strangely like your TirePlaning PWC concept and sort of boat like?

This "two wheeled car"(with outrigger wheels) looks like it would float fine as is, assuming any holes were sealed up.

keep designing guy's, its fun. riding on water, what was it, 840 times denser as air, is what i'm still interested in.
i like that thirty's bike squid and -what did i know- it has an air cooled engine in the frontwheel, would that be called watercooled when in the water?
james bonds 007 wellknow jetski seems not very succesfull eighter, i like it tho and think that can be better too
maybe its possible to come up with more inspiring visions as at https://blogs.aalto.fi/visionfutureb...tion/#comments or you all silent with awe?

Aalto university now updated their site and added more pics, texts and also now showed the rest of the top ten entree's

this update now gives way more insight in for example 1e price winning asymetric deckhouse witch really had me wondering
only seeing this pic on 14-1-2012 witch i was blowing up to read or understand, like a bunch of tri's in a small channal

we discussed our combo entree here and after squidly pointed out that wasnt the rules i sort of roughed it up and posted
so no hard feelings here we didnt get mentioned, interesting is Paolo Corcagnani Carbon Maiden just dont think it will ride very well

https://blogs.aalto.fi/visionfutureboating/4th-10th/ now is a pleasure to page trough as i havent even read or seen all of the ideas
https://blogs.aalto.fi/visionfutureb...tion/#comments had me confused, but now in blue "concept links" are put in witch i missed

back to our own combo i really do like squidly's old frontwheel engined bike, only one build tho and can only wonder how it performed.
bike looks as it could be a winner in a bikers build of in my opinion. what i drew up was not meant to be a leadsled, it should be as licht as possible
but a quick and dirty stability check showed a high center of gravity and had to be wide to fload with 2 riders. must say Paolo's carbon maid looks exellent
but.. impellors for steering or drive or what? snowtrack with sled for snowed beach sand or what? really want to gowith a heavy battery pack?
also like the speedrails on spidennis bond foreski when necesairy, cant see how wheels would fit in yet tho.
i am most interested what propulsion and drag -and ok what footprint, tireprofiel and grip- would need riding a twowheeler in a controlled manner on water

I think this guy from india might be onto to something ......
a bike can be retrofitted with the aqua accessories?
I can also see it as a motorized bike with a bolt on engine kit.
floats would swing down but look more like motorcycle saddle bags or a molded fairing
still, room for "supplies" to be brought back to the boat needs to be allowed for.
folded up this wouldn't take up much room on a boat,
and on the road can still be nimble like a bicycle.
Don't care much for the pedals in the water though ......
It doesn't have to totally amphibian right?
Just an easy enough conversion at the water edge?
besides, say you were to pull up to a dock and not a boat ramp or beach?
maybe it's a seawall or such?

good finds and shows any wich way testing biking on water will do
see how little volume in the sadle bags is keeping the bike afload
adding a motor or passanger will increase displacement volume tho
going kiss with wet feet the simple swing outs need a move but work

dont think humans be strong enough to bring the thing into plane tho
and coming out of the water with pulling wheels a new game starts
havent figgered out how carbon maiden above floads or drives yet
nobody said live was simple, out, checking the rest of it, later more

if you saw in one of those videos about the university engineering students they had all kinds of nifty tools, like that cnc hotwire to cut out foam. How nice would it be it have something like that huh? that guy in India had to think differently ..... and showing looking at the same problem from opposite ends of the spectrum!
