How about attaching barge/sled to transome?

Like this sled they use on jetskis, accept probably a displacement version.

Maybe a planing version, too.

How would towing with horizontal 'hinge' work out, assuming your transom/scantings will hold it?

I'm think it might be simply way to greatly increase load carrying, or carry sloppy stuff, and be easier to handle than a 'loose tow'.

Like one of those mono-wheel trailers that attach to bumper at two horizontal points, instead of a tow rope(not even a tow ball).
