Hi Solrac,

Nice to have some forward looking boat concepts to discuss. I am working on something similar so I can appreciate this concept. A few design issues I see are:
  • if the main cabin remains in the water, then too much wetted surface area makes for a boat that will suck large amounts of energy even to go slowly.
  • Could be more aerodynamic.
I think that the hinged outrigger hulls are cool, especially if they can lift the main cabin out of the water for transporting to a different site. Then you would have a solar cat, which is the only way to go for solar boats.
