They are just drawings, like your design for a "waveless" boat. It does not mean that the screw is efficient, nor does it make your vessel "waveless".

In the past the Maierform Group has a patent concerning a system to avoid the turbulent flow caused from the propeller hub against the rudder.
This system named "Costa bulb" reduced the power btw. 3/3.5 % on large and slow ships. The shape of the bulb was the same but applied to the rudder near the prop's hub.

Some of the earliest screw propellers looked like that. None of the modern ones do. Is there a connection?
