| In the past the Maierform Group has a patent concerning a system to avoid the turbulent flow caused from the propeller hub against the rudder. This system named "Costa bulb" reduced the power btw. 3/3.5 % on large and slow ships. The shape of the bulb was the same but applied to the rudder near the prop's hub. |
