Hey guys... I am looking for a Marine Architect with....

Hey guys, my name is Aaron and I am trying to start a boat company. I need a marine architect that has catamaran experience, planing hull experience, and is aluminum(Al) friendly.

I am looking for this person to design 3 boats for me, one planing cat hull and two v-hull boats. I have a Architect here in FL but he is not a fan of Al, which is a problem for me. I need someone who will embrace the Al. even if its just a rec for a company you have heard of, any leads will help!!

If you guys could help me at all i would really appreciate it! thanks so much!
Aaron

What is his objection to aluminium....personal, or lacking experience?

Im sure any NA down your way could provide you with your SOR.

"one planing cat hull and two v-hull boats"

What sizes? I would choose two seperate NA's myself.

The Bay area has plenty of skilled craftsmen and a history of boatbuilding from Sarasota to Tarpon Springs. Lots of idle boat plants right now too, especially in Sarasota.

Interesting, I never thought about two NAs for each project.

45-75' Planing Catamaran
26-38' v-hull center console
25-35' v-hull enclosed bow "launch" style boat

The guy I have now just doesn't like Al, so it's kind of a bummer because I'm so gungho for it.

Thanks for the help guys!!

DeVillers

Here is a fellow who help Steve Dashew with a few of his alum projects

I'm working with him representing his very fine 62' alum cruising cat design:

He likes alum construction, and has a lot of knowledge about it.
