I have informed Mr. Kotzebue of this discussion via Skype and by e-mail. Found his phone number too but will not go that far. We have to wait and see.
    Cheers

    Ok.
I've sent him an e-mail, 20 rows of text describing the situation and asking him if he can join the discussion and clarify his position on this.
This is the reply I got:
Consent for distribution by Paul Kotzebue.jpg
I have the full text of the email, if necessary.

After having read this super-short reply by Mr. Kotzebue, I just can't help thinking how it leaves an impression that he must be either very busy at the moment or rather disinterested in this project... If the latter is the case, I am frankly very sorry for that. It is a nice boat.

Anyways... So, I can distribute the drawings, after which you decide how to proceed. Here it is:

Good job. Still leaves me looking for his 8 meter design. The worst part is i downloaded the hull line and deck layout to my phone if i had downloded the offsets for the hull and deck we would be in good shape and be able reconstruct the design. Rats foiled again:(

I what to thank everybody that has tried to help with this problem. I started a new trend to see if we can put together enough data to build this boat. I have pk 6 meter design as a fall back.
The new trend is PK 8 METER SLOOP The Rebirth hope to see you there.
Leaving this tread open for a while maybe santa clause will stop by:p

I want to call my boat San Jacinto ... but my own 1836 seems years away.

I hope whatever was bothering Paul gets resolved, if just for his own sake and nothing else. It's nice his blog is probably still all on the Wayback. In retrospect, probably should have commented and been at least that encouraging.

The construction blog of the Pintail, or rather the comments and description of the missing photos, seems to be there. The actual blog is readable with images from 12/8/12 to the last if you go to look at the earlier captures (you can do this with the Wayback controls up at the top of the page).

Kotzebue is a talented designer. The boat design world is less without him.

I wish whatever made him decide to stop could be addressed, but I imagine that's both private and impossible. But that's my wish.

Maybe if we leave the lights on he'll come out and play.

My dad got out of the marine industry years ago but there was always a boat around working on. A couple of years ago grandpa had to fix up my first sailboat for his youngest grandchild. During a call i reminded he did the same with me 50 years ago.

It never gets out of your blood

Nope, you can download the first few but then it starts asking you for money... Well at least that is my limited understanding because I don't read that language. Maybe that is why Paul shut down the site, people stealing his work and selling it online, which he can pretty much do nothing about.
