Help Identifying a Sailboat I am hoping to get some information on a sailboat that I just saw while poking around one of the marinas yesterday. I don't have as much information as I'm sure you'd like. She was still on her cradle so I couldn't get a look in the cockpit for any manufacturer's label. She was about 22 feet as best as I can guestimate from the ground. : She had noticably hard bilges, somewhat like a cat boat; hopefully some manufacturers are noted for this shape. : She had a well throgh her hull through which a small outboard was hung. I liked this feature in lieu of a regular inboard. : Perhaps most useful is that she had a step down cabin (if that's the correct term); that is the cabin top had two levels to it, higher near the entrance and lower but still above the deck, further forward. : Sloop rigged as I recall. Is there any chance, I am speaking to those most familiar with production fiberglass boat designs, that this narrows it down enough to identify her? Thanks in advance.

Going by your description, I've narrowed it down to about 4000 possabilities. Look at Bristols, Pearsons, and Cape Dorys for the boats built in that area that somewhat fit that profile. A picture would be nice.

Alan's data base is much better then mine I could only pin it down to 6,000. Without pictures or much more accurate measurements, it's literally a crap shoot as to what you saw.

Sailboat ID I didn't know that there were still so many possibilities, all with these features. I may be able to get back out to that particular marina (at the foot of Seneca Lake up here in the fnger Lakes region - if anyone else happens to be within driving distance) with a camera. Better yet would be if she's in the water when I go back. Thanks for trying guys, Ed

That size range is the second most popular in the world, the first being just smaller then that, so yep, there are lots of choices. If she was on the hard, she's probably still on the hard, as spring commissioning is just beginning up there now. Drive up and get a few shots with a camera, besides you needed an excuse for an upstate drive anyway, right.
