You may be pushing the S*** stuff up-hill with a pointy stick as the data Frosty found the vessel was only 1000t and the replacement (via my post 2700t) and it had a WASP helio...

I cannot comment regarding the possibility of the installation of the helipad. I am new with all of these and just learning bits and pieces form your posts.
As I stated earlier in this thread, I am only complying to what the owner wants me to research about and hopefully with your insights/comments s/he will be able to make the right decision when it comes to taking the right path/options for the retrofit.
Her/his goal is to maximize the retrofit and be able to include all the possible services the yacht can offer/accommodate. As the long term plan for the yacht is to charter it for a few years and then sell it.

The owner has asked you to do something and you can't work out what sex he/she is.

Good luck in working out how to do a helipad.

Anne,

This is a fun group hu?

Without more info on exactly what ship, and what helo are being married it is a bit of a stretch to give any specific details. But it appears the owner is trying to squeeze more aircraft on the boat than it can reasonably hold. The difference between a small 2sob aircraft and a 6 sob is huge.

HMS BULLDOG - Yacht conversion _ Helicopters

Dear Anne,

I am a former Royal Navy Officer and a former Commanding Officer of HMS BULLDOG - the yacht conversion I believe you are involved in. With suitable modifications I believe BULLDOG is more than capable of a land on capability for a Westland Wasp sized aircraft. The BULLDOG class were tough with excellent seakeeping capability. I have operated Westland Wasp (from the stern) and Seaking ( from the bow) in VERTREP mode. The Seaking was a bit to big, but a Wasp sized aircraft on a flight deck over the stern would be achievable in my opinion. If you have any photos of BULLDOG in her new role I would be very grateful for them, including any other information you can supply.
Best regards, Andrew.
