All boats are not recreational vehicles.....some are homes, many are transportation in places were there is no alternative, many are jobs, many are a combination of these functions. I own two boats, one is transportation and the other my only home.

The reality is that many thousands of boats already exist, in many cases I believe it far "greener" to live aboard a modest boat (bought well used, not new) than to live in a new apartment. Living on a boat can eliminate the need to play the real-estate lottery and reduce ones footprint considerably....in all kinds of ways.....Boats (in the form of modest housing) can be one path to a "greener" future....
