I have been fabricating Granite Counters for years...does anyone ever put them in boats? (I Never Have)

Curious

Definately, I was looking at one recently in a large luxurious yacht. Generally with a smaller boat the mass is too great unless the designer allows for it so I wouldn't go into business producing granite couter tops for boats.

Location: Conn in summers , Ortona FL in winter , with big dock & room for O'nite stop .
The very hi teck Granite is in loads of Super Yachts ,

The granite (1/8 in thick)is glued to an aircraft grade honeycomb , avilable off the shelf. About 2lb per sq ft finished.

Edges are hidden with wood, or Stainless .

In smaller yachts a product called Corian is frequently used (atleast here in Holland).
It's essentially a hard plastic, heavy, but lighter than granite.
Check it out:

Attended the Miami show last week...

and almost every boat that I was interested in (45'-60' displacement) had granite countertops, not only in the galley, but in the heads as well. People will spend money when they got it!
