Getting drunk with Photoshop...

Hello...

Happy holidays...

Just got the big layoff (psuedo political - exchange rate whatever - redundancy - muck shuff) from good old Teldon Print Media - feel free to call the Richmond fire department or the Workers Compensation bits against them...

Bah - I am FREE - FREE - FREE and floating merrily upon a strong severance package - best thing to happen - YUP...

Now I have to go back to yacht building - oh poor soul - no fielding bad remorse - just bloody have to do it - wish me luck...

OK - so the severance is deposited - the VISA is paid down - stuffed two years of moorage into a high interest account - my line of credit got a good 'cash wacking' and I AM SO DAMNED HAPPY - just needed them to twist my arm and sweat them out to a payout...

Getting drunk with Photoshop - YUP - and one of the most perfect double ended pinky transomed sharpies ever to come out of a human brain - namely Ted Brewer - YUP...

Merry Christmas and happy new year bits - to all...

Sean

Is that "back to boat building" one for you, or lots for them?

Happy christmas

Lot's for them - I guess...

Hello...

I think you are asking whether I am going ahead with mine or am I going back to the yards 'for the man'...

Well - when the severance runs out I am going to have to make a living again - yuck - so it's back to doing it for the man...

Yet bulding yachts is far more satisfying - really - than fixing machines that at the end of the day just make so much landfill (ie: printing presses)...

That blue thing above is a custom inline diecutter I and a co-worker built - a 300,000 dollar 'hole punch' and garbage maker...

That engine room was the last one I did at the builder I left to go make 'big hole punchers' - why - I don't really know just now...

I have missed it...

Also, I imagine that getting back into the industry will make for better contacts with suppliers and friends against completing my own little boat...

I hate soul searching - just want to get up - shake it out - work - go home - go sailing - go to bed...

Thing is if I go back to the yard - there is NO shift - NO callouts - NO overtime - NO weekends - maybe I can get to know this woman that I married a while back - whats her name - my wife...

GOD I HATED SHIFT AND BEING ON CALL - NO way to live - forget the money...

Thanks...

SH.
