George Buehler question

I kinda like the lines of his "Alaska" and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with his designs or better yet with that particular design. Just doing some research before i buy plans; also if anyone could suggest something similar they think would be easier to build or would be better suited to all weather use around Cape Cod. (USA) and off the coast of Maine.
This is the my first attempt at boat building (with the exception of a 13' sail boat when i was in my teens, although at almost 20 yrs old she's still sailing...although now she's my sons). I've been planning for about 10 years and think it's time to go back to displacement.

His early designs had excessive flare in the topsides so they were extremely tender and tippy . I hear his more recent designs were less extreme in this regard.

Over where i work there's a guy owns a Buehler boat, i believe she's a "Juno" but i'm not sure. He seems to like her but he does say she is very tender to start but stiffens up after she gets going. Although for her size she is HEAVY at least from what i can see. I have to admit she does look salty, and I'll have to look up this "alaska" although there is a thread here in which she is mentioned it doesn't say much about her except as designed her rudder is to small and a tip about putting a pipe around the shaft when building up the keel in that area.
