I know I'm looking at some time re gelcoating my offshore boat but I really like the duribility of gelcoat for a heavily used fishing boat. I just finished some large repairs and noticed that a large part of the boat has been painted (they didn't do good job). Question, will the gelcoat stick to the paint if preped and sanded or does it need completely stripped?, Any help would be great.

Sorry, you got to strip it.
