Galleons S XVI-SXVII
Hi all:
As we only have a few drawings, some artistic reconstructions, and no technical plans from those times, I think it would be interesting to try to redesing one of those ships from their performance. My porposal is to make some inverse engineering. In mi oppinion all drawings present a too flat, rounded bottom ship, for sailing even with cross winds. Due to the long trips and the navigation diaries it's obvious that the performance reported doesn't fix with the drawings conserved. Please take in account that I'm not speaking about the S XVIII line ships (S.J. Nepomuceno, H.M.S Victory), but one hundred years before them.
Best regards.
