He hasn't done anything. Compare the interior photo on his advert with the photo above of one I know is unadulterated.

A plywood screen around three sides of the centrally mounted head was an option (didn't have a door). It made the forward berth into two singles accessible from either side of the head 'enclosure'. It wasn't structural as there were lot's built without this or any other bulk head.

Slightly off topic, but a separate, enclosed head was the number one want/need for female crew in one survey. If a women is considering spending a weekend on a boat, the guy that has an enclosed head is much more likely to have a companion than the guy with a porta-potty in under the vee-berth insert.

This begs the question of why you would remove an enclosed head if the boat has one.

Both the Westerly 25's had a weird appendage arrangement, a big skeg aft and bilge keels. The Windrush version had an enclosed head option.

After the success of the full bulkhead in the W30, the Westerly 25 was rejigged with a full bulkhead which divided the accommodation into two. They also got a new deck/cabin house which was longer with a smaller cockpit. This revamp was called the Windrush and was launched at the London Boat Show over Christmas 1966. The Windrush also had an inboard diesel and were all bermudan rigged.

The boat in the advert is a 1965 Westerly 25.

Well ..it seems am guilty of making much ado about nothing...there was apparently no enclosed head...just a curtain maybe...and this was all that was removed. This seems to be a very good sturdy boat with partial bulkhead in some models..full bulkhead in later ones.....Though no racer...still seems a great first buy considering the motor that is thrown into the deal...bilge keels and overall heavy contruction...I'll leave this thing alone now...but kinda glad I poked it with a stick...good posts and info guys...thanks
