Feet and inches

Hi!

I have just got a small doubt which i am sure that anyone with a bit of knowledge in traditional units can help me. I have just been given the offsets table for a classic day sailer and the units are in feet and inches if i come across something like: 2.9.3 does this acually mean 2 feet and 9 1/3 inches ??

Kind regards

Iván

Feet-inches-eigths (or sixteenths if so marked or you get something over 9)
A "+" means an extra sixteenth (or thirytsecond)
A "-" means a little less, this is rarely seen as the lofter is expected to fair the line a bit.

2-9-3 is 2 feet 9 3/8 inches
