actually this is a very interesting thread..however id have to say if your going to this mutch expence your location should be the equator and a take off/ landing spaceport should be considerd for orbital lift shuttles liek the x prize winner. if you really want to make a diffrence. until we get off this rock its a point failure source and eventually if we dont take steps some calamity will eventually overtake us. and our ghosts will be standing around going oooo what hapened. and some other form will grow up to replace us
personally i think we have already shot ourselves in the foot twice already and the reaction just hasent set in yet ,hanford and chernyobel if you want to know....everything else is petty compared to colonising in space.
