Experimental results for sails

Hello everyone!

I wonder whether I can find some experimental results from wind tunnel testing on sails.

I need information such as sail profile, angle of attack, camber, Cl,Cd.

I am doing a CFD project on sails for my university, and I need the above information, so I can run the model (sail) from the wind tunnel experiment, into FLUENT and try to mesh the model appropriately and put the correct inputs in Fluent, and get the same results as the wind tunnel experiment.

This will help me to find an efficient way to mesh my model in my project and calibrate FLUENT correctly so I will get logical results.

SO, can anyone help me?

Thank you in advance!

Panos

I have spotted some papers from 2 different authors concerning 2-d experimental results, in the references of some papers.

But i cannot find them in the internet and read them.

The authors are Millgram and Wilkinson.

Can anyone help??

You should try the 'standard' for sail/rig design & performance - Bethwaite's Book: "High Performance Sailing"

He did a lot of testing that he publishes there. Maybe more elsewhere.
