engine room ventilation inlet - height above deck/ which deck

Can anybody point me to the regulation concerning the height above the main deck of engineroom ventilation air inlets?

We'd like to move them to another location where the lowest part will be about 3 ft. above the deck. The openings will face to the rear and mist eliminators will be installed.

Not sure if class rules would approve this solution.

Thanks!

By the way, for all those interested in the topic of mist elimination, the website of German company Munters (http://www.muntersglobal.com/en/Glob...n/Air--Intake/) is very informative.

If the boat is to Class/IMO or SOLAS rules etc, then 760mm.
