Peter Ibold

I knew Peter Ibold back in the 1970s. I was in my 20s and he was quite bit older. I'm 61 now, so he might be dead...

endurance boats are my personal all time favourite of all boats - very seaworthy and well thought out....

fero-cement sailboats

I found plans for a 35' sailboat displacement 18,500 lbs. The plans for the sailboat are in fero-cement.The plans in fero-cement show the ballast to be 3600lbs. I want to build the sailboat in steel. Does anyone know if the weight of fero-cement and steel are about the same or if fero-cement is lighter? I have looked at different steel designs and they show about (weight to ballast ratio) to be around 35%. should I just have the boat weighted? and what (weight to ballast ratio should I use? (20% to 40%) Thank You ray13
