    Electric PWC??

From previous posts on this thread, "It would almost surely have a prop."

While a prop (or paddlewheel for that matter) would be much better propulsive efficiency than a jet, it is noted that all PWCs must use jet propulsion for safety reasons. If exposed moving parts (prop or paddle tracks) could be used on the PWCs then they would probably have them, since snowmobiles of similar power easily out-perform jet PWCs.

"Usually the reason lakes are restricted to electric is not just to reduce noise but also to restrict speed"

Having an inboard electric for several years, I have never seen a speed restriction. Some lakes have horsepower restrictions, and these must be met, no matter electric or gasoline IC engine, or steam for that matter.

I think you don't see speed restrictions because most electric propulsion is quite slow currently, mostly trolling motors. I suspect the rules will be changed quickly if people start wake boarding behind electric boats on a regular basis.

The whole point behind these regulations and laws is to have them revised, because of the cleverness of the rule "stretchers". While you wait for the slow cogs to turn, you'll get to enjoy your creation.
