Elco Cruiser Restoration

Can anyone tell me the best source of information to determine the original configuration, options, finish materails, etc. of a particular size and year Elco cruiser?

How do more experienced restorers determine what is original about the project they are working on versus what was work and changes done over the years?

(1) I'd be very surprised if there isn't a Yahoo! user's group for ELCO cruisers.

(2) Experience. Having seen enough of a particular thing to know when something isn't original.

Unfortunately I have been unable to locate an Elco Cruiser group. I have done a number of searches and come up empty. Are you aware of a member of this forum that has extensive Elco experience?

Elco Cruiser Restoration

I may be able to help. I did some research on some Elco designs a few years ago when we bid to build a new Elco 26 to the original design. Feel free to email me directly with additional information about the boat in question. I'd be happy to try to help.
