Ears And Wedges Hull Assembly Method

While researching a boat we saw at Jones Island I found a site apparently hosted by it's builder. The method of assembling the hull panels is new to me. LINKEY
The designers site may need to be viewed using Google Chrome as it won't sit still for Internet Explorer. LINKEY
BTW, the boat looks like a winner.

I recall seeing a similar method of assembling hull panels a number of years ago. One disadvantage is the protruding tabs can require large sheets of plywood and/or interfere with nesting parts on a sheet.

Looks quite clever. Certainly lends itself to that project. Just remember, though that building the hull is the quick bit of building a boat. The interior fit-out is by far the more time consuming part.

Its a technique thats been around since the seventies.Jack Holt and Bell Woodworking devised it for the Miracle dinghy-more information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_%28dinghy%29 .Quite a few other boats have been built with the technique since.

Does anyone happen to remember the name of that thread or a key word to search?
