| Hi Clinton; I think from the fast row boat thread you have got this boat planked . So how did it work? Or is this another boat? I posted you on the fast rowboat thread about what material you used for spline material at 1/4 scale. I ripped a 3/16 rip of lexan but it would not make the curve for the stations. I've started fairing my pear shaped curves so maybe this will be a moot point but.... Thanks any way - Nick |

| This post regards the design of my "Maine Coast Dinghy", a 18'8" sailboat for the family and a raid if necessary, though it is becoming more and more a family sailboat! Yes it'll prob. be 6 or 7 strakes, prob. six maybe even 5...I will line it off on a 1/4 scale lofting which I have yet to start. Probably will do this work later in summer after I get the faering done with a tleast one pair of oars...due to launch for August 1. I am contemplating doing a 3 panel stitch-and-glue hull for the boat too, but I am betting that I'll be leaning back to glued lap after seeing some sketches. I'll keep people posted on this technique...as far as I know it hasn't been done quite this way...it is a synthesis of ideas from a number of sources...hardly "my" idea...."standing on the shoulders of giants..." s always. Cheers, Clint |
