Ted,

You must see by now that things that seem so simple can be so complicated, or so simple. Your hull was easy and as mmd said my numbers are for floating level. Most hulls are strange shapes and may require the services of these pros. But most back yard builders will just build it and try it. Sometimes with interesting results.

the more rocker, the deeper she will float. sailboats tend to have more rocker than powerboats. rocker=bow & stern rise.

my interest is as follows: how much weight does it take to sink a 1`ft (12" inch) square block 1" inch in sea water.

so if i add all of the square footage of the bottom of my hull and calculate it by 5 1/3 lb. i can figure out how much weight i can put on the deck and know how deep it will draft,

the hull also is tapered to the bow .
