You have a Windermere registration number on it. Ring them --they must have the make in the registration application.

Ive seen the boat before, I can't recall what it is, when I read the post I thought it was a going to be a Datline bikini but they use a Granada V6 with PP,-- yet you have twin exhaust on the transom --or did have. It may have been re engined!!.

It could be a 'Seafire' or 'Star craft'

my first thought was a dateline bikini too, had one, but think it was a bit bigger and without the indent in the stern
sure is fun but even restored the boat is to small for open water; at wot you go real wet, been there done that
inland waters just about all have speedlimits and even back in topnotch condition this boat wont be a money maker

I looked it up in my UK slang dictionary which goes from spondulicks to spoof and from on the scrounge to on the take without telling me what on the sponge means.

Picton speed boats come in 14, 15 and 16' lengths, maybe it's of that persuasion...

Where I come from on the sponge is closely related to on the scrounge and often picking the brains is a lead into getting ones hands onto the hoarded collection-
Spotted that old rag top in the photo, was suspecting it might have been an Essex.--Geo.

"to sponge" is also "to bludge" borrow with no thought or intention of returning. Living on the goodwill of others "go an get a job ya bludger"
