| design scantling rules I am a canadian boatbuilder and i am about to start building a 45ft alluminum motoryacht, planing hull, 40Knt speed, 30 passengers. Does anyone know what are the mandatory rules for designing the boat(I mean for the project).Do I need survey from Canada Transport? If Yes, then what scantling rules I have to comply with? (ABS?):becourse Canada Transport doesn't have it's own scantling rules. Thanks to everyone! |

| If you are carrying passengers for hire, you proably do need to meet something. Look at the regulations and/or hire a real naval architect (Bob Allen in Vancouver is very good at high speed craft like this). |
