I posted some time a go a question about designing the underdeck support for winch loads and poeple here were helpful enough to guide me into reacting the loads into the beam supports with an effective length of the plate.

problem is now we might send such work to classification societies so will the they accept this method of analysis or is there another more professional analytical method for solving it.

thank you and hope u can help

If the vessel is built to Class...it's simple. Since you must submit your dwgs/design to Class for their approval.

In the absence of a particular rule or set of rules governing the design of winch foundations, you must prepare design calculations using first principles. You submit these calculations, along with any drawings showing modifications to the deck structure, to the class society for their review and approval. If there is any problem with the design, the class society will inform you where additional changes/calculations need to be made. As long as the class society approves the modifications before construction commences, you'll be OK.
