Hey you stole my method Shhhhhhh....

There is a type of polypro line that is about 1/8" and invisible in the water. I have a roll of that too.

I'm skeptical. Even a bunch of 16-inch guns firing together is nothing compared to the mass of a battleship. The recoil would have to about tear those guns off the deck to move that puppy much. And you can bet those guns are as near recoilless as the Navy could get 'em. I bet you're seeing some kind of muzzle blast effect on the surface of the water in that photo.
